Riveter
Climb the girders, dodge the barrels, catch the wrenches mid-air, and chuck them back at the saboteur on top.
Objective
A saboteur stands at the top of a steel tower hurling junk down at you. Climb up through six rows of girders and ladders, catch the wrenches he drops, and throw them back at him. Land three hits to defeat him and earn a huge bonus — or just reach his platform before the escape timer expires for a smaller one. The run ends when you lose all your lives.
Controls
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| ← → / A D | Run left / right |
| ↑ ↓ / W S | Climb ladder up / down |
| Z / Space | Jump (also leap off a ladder) |
| X (hold) | Reach up to catch a falling wrench |
| X (press) | Throw the held wrench in your facing direction |
| Esc | Pause |
| Touch / drag | Drag on the left side to steer; tap right-side buttons for jump & catch/throw |
How it works
- Procedural tower — every tower is regenerated. Higher towers add mid-span gaps in girders, sloped girders that let barrels roll faster, and start with fewer ladder choices.
- Barrels drop, land on a girder, and roll along it — they fall off ends and through gaps. A single touch kills you, but you can jump cleanly over a rolling one.
- Wrenches fall slowly straight down. Touching one without catching kills you; hold X to open a catch zone above your head and snag it instead. An off-screen wrench shows a green arrow at the top of the play field.
- Sparks are linear projectiles aimed at you. They never appear on tower 1 — their odds climb by roughly
+8%per tower, capped at30%of boss throws. - Throwing sends your wrench in a high arc in the direction you're facing. A hit stuns the boss for
120frames;3hits defeats him. - Escape timer — the bar in the HUD starts at
50s on tower 1 and shrinks by1.5s per tower (floor22s). If it runs out, or if you reach the boss platform on foot, the saboteur flees and the tower ends without a defeat bonus. - Lives — you start with
3, max9. You earn an extra life every50,000points.
Scoring
- Climb a row:
+100the first time you reach each new girder row in a tower (+200if you skip one by jumping). - Catch a wrench:
+50per clean grab. - Hit the boss:
+1,000per wrench landed. - Defeat the boss (3 hits):
+25,000bonus, then the next tower builds. - Tower escape (timer expired or you tagged the top):
+5,000 × tower number. Tower 1 gives+5,000, tower 4 gives+20,000, and so on. - 1UP: every
50,000points earns an extra life.
Strategy
- Catch is your only defense against wrenches. A wrench you don't catch kills you on contact. Always hold X the moment one drifts into your column — it's safer than dodging, and it pays
+50plus a free throw. - Don't climb straight to the top. Reaching the boss platform makes him flee for only
+5,000 × tower. A clean defeat is+28,000(three+1,000hits plus the+25,000bonus). Stop one row short, catch, throw. - Throw from a low row when you can. A wrench thrown from the ground girder arcs the full tower height and is harder for the boss to dodge by wandering. From the top row, your aim window is tiny.
- Stunned boss = free hits. A landed throw stuns him for about two seconds and pauses his throw timer. If you have a second wrench banked or one falling, get it in the air immediately.
- Use jumps over barrels, ladders over wrenches. A barrel rolling toward you on a girder is best jumped; a wrench falling onto your row is best dodged onto a ladder, where wrenches can't follow you because you're already moving on the rung.
- Mind the gaps and slopes. From tower
2onward girders have mid-span gaps; from tower3some girders slope, which speeds up downhill barrels. Position yourself uphill of barrels, never downhill. - Watch the timer color. Yellow above
50%, orange above25%, pulsing red below20%. Once it goes red, commit — finish the boss with whatever you have, or sprint to the top for the escape bonus before zero.
